<p>POSITION: Special Education Teacher - Language-Based Program</p> <p>Location: Galvin Middle School</p> <p>Salary: per Unit A contract based on experience</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed MA Special Education teacher, Moderate Special Needs. Additional licenses in English and/or Reading Specialist preferred. </li><li>Working knowledge of Language Based Learning Disability interventions and support </li><li>Minimum 3 years teaching/ Special Ed experience </li></ul> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Consult with student teams and develop an instructional model and practices that support students with language-based learning disabilities across academic settings </li><li>In collaboration with curriculum coordinators, design and teach a small group, substantially separate Humanities class. </li><li>Co-teach and collaborate with grade-level teams and paraprofessionals to ensure that accommodations and modifications are being implemented. </li><li>Complete informal and formal diagnostic assessments and make recommendations for IEP programming and scheduling based on results </li><li>Lead Annual Review meetings, developing IEPs in conjunction with teams that address specific needs of students. </li><li>Coordinate schedule with service providers to ensure compliance with Service Delivery Grids across settings </li><li>Collect, compile and interpret data for progress monitoring and adjusting instructional practice. </li><li>Develop Progress Reports related to IEP goals. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents, reporting progress and discussing areas of struggle </li><li>Ensure compliance with all aspects of student IEPs </li><li>Incorporate assistive technology to support the needs of LBLD students across settings in accessing curriculum </li><li>Collaborate with other Special Education teachers, providing support and consult on LBLD students across the building </li></ul> <p>STARTING DATE: August 27, 2025</p> <p>APPLICATIONS TO BE FORWARDED:</p> <p>Megan Webb</p> <p>Galvin Principal</p> <p>Wakefield Public Schools</p>
