<p>Job Description</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>This is a full-time position in the Orthopedics Department/Carmel, Indiana.</p> <p>This individual will be working with providers(s) in an outpatient clinic under the supervision of the clinic/practice manager and provider(s). The ATC will perform duties associated with direct patient care in accordance with the organization standards. The ATC will assist the providers with in-office procedures, treatments, casting, patient education, and assuring efficient patient flow. Patient education will range from explaining next steps in the treatment plan, to educate patients through a home exercise program or bracing. This individual may perform computerized provider order entry per provider. The ATC participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve set outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. This position may perform duties associated with symptom-management, direct in-clinic patient care, telehealth patient care, quality improvement activities and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Rooming: vitals, history and physical exam, determine if x-rays are needed, present to physician </li><li>Placing needed orders per provider PT, MRI/CT, etc. </li><li>Preparing any in office procedures (Injections, aspirations, ultrasound exams, PRP, etc.) </li><li>Global period patients: complete history, physical examination, and plan of care based on physician recommendations </li><li>Triaging and addressing patient calls and messaging </li><li>Obtaining prior authorization per provider request </li><li>Manage paperwork including, but not limited to FMLA, disability, workers comp, etc. </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities:</p> <p>Casting/splinting</p> <p>Staple or stitch removal</p> <p>Wound care</p> <p>Home exercise programs</p> <p>Patient education</p> <p>DME</p> <p>Manual therapy</p> <p>Clinical/Procedure Chart Prepping</p> <p>Scheduling Assistance as needed</p> <p>Medical Instrumentation Logistics</p> <p>Prescription Education and Review</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Athletic Training is required.</p> <ul> <li>Indiana State Athletic Training Licensure or eligible required. </li><li>Must be a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer. </li><li>AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross Professional Rescuer required. </li><li>Other certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. </li><li>0-3 years of experience required. </li></ul>
