Marshall!</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Banner Position Number 000120 Position Title Associate Professor Classification Title Assistant Professor Department Psychology - MU2672 Job Description</p> <p>The Department of Psychology at Marshall University seeks applicants for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the department's APA-accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program (Psy.D.). The Marshall University Psy.D. program has competitive admissions, close-knit cohorts, 100% practicum placement rates, and talented faculty dedicated to student and client success. We are seeking those who wish to join our team of diverse and collegial faculty who are student-focused and committed to quality mental health care, education and scholarship.</p> <p>Start date January 2026 but earlier start is negotiable for strong applicants.</p> <p>The Department of Psychology is also home to a robust undergraduate program (BA/BS) and a general masters' program. The Department is also preparing to launch an undergraduate degree program that can be completed completely online.</p> <p>While primary responsibilities will be in clinical teaching and supervision, there will be an expectation to contribute to coverage in the undergraduate BA/BS program as well as the general master's program.</p> <p>Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing a program of research; supervising undergraduate and graduate student research; developing applied undergraduate learning opportunities such as practicum experiences; participating in University service activities. In addition, the faculty at Marshall University also teach interdisciplinary courses such as the First-Year Seminar, which is designed to enhance students' critical thinking.</p> <p>There are opportunities to move into programmatic leadership and coordination positions in the future, including an opportunity to develop and direct off-campus training placements.</p> <p>Location MU - Marshall University Salary Range Salary is commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and internal equity.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Successful applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program. </li><li>Must be licensed or license-eligible in West Virginia. </li><li>Willingness to seek licensure in surrounding states (OH and KY) is also desirable. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>We are seeking an individual with expertise in clinical intervention, psychological assessment, and teaching.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Education Experience</p> <ul> <li>There is a preference for candidates who are trained and have expertise in health psychology including integrated behavioral health models. Other areas of expertise that may be of interest are clinical gerontology, integrated approaches for underserved communities, addiction and substance use treatment, and treatment of vulnerable populations. </li><li>Strong clinical assessment background with an interest in teaching assessment coursework is also desirable.
