The decision of whether or not to delegate or assign is based upon the RN's judgment concerning the condition of the patient, the competence of all members of the nursing team and the degree of supervision that will be required of the RN. The OUS provides input and guidance into the care of patient populations requiring orthopedic/urological care; as well as provides the necessary patient/family/employee instruction under the direction/supervision of the Registered Nurse, Team Leader or Manager. The OUS maintains adequate levels of unit supplies related to ortho/uro procedures in coordination with Sterile Supply. The OUS also checks and assists with the maintenance of equipment related to ortho/uro procedures, assists with new product evaluation of orthopedic/urological supplies, and successfully completes yearly OUS skills evaluation. The OUS successfully completes the preceptor course within a year of hire and meets continuing education to maintain preceptor status.</p> <p>Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire. </li><li>Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred </li><li>Successfully completes PCT classes as required by care center/unit. </li></ul> <p>Other Key Words: Entry-Level, Patient Care Technician, No Experience Required, Paid Training Provided, On-the-Job Training, Career Growth, CNA, PCT, OUS</p>
