<p>General Summary</p> <p>Boston Children's is looking for Pharmacy Technician II candidates to fill our 40 hour position. The candidate will need to have a flexible schedule and have the ability to work days, evenings and every third weekend. The schedule will be primarily day and evening shifts (hours from 7:00am to 11:00pm) based on the operational need of the pharmacy department. The employee will work closely with the scheduling team to determine scheduling that is fair to all staff, meets operational needs, and considerate of the employee's personal needs.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs quality controls checks of medication orders and doses distributed following established procedures and schedules. Fills and delivers medication orders/prescriptions for hospital inpatients and outpatients. Fills standing inpatient medication orders in individual cassettes following computer-generated lists and fills new orders/prescriptions from physician orders. </li><li>Delivers cassettes and individual medications to units and collects new medication orders according to established procedures and schedules. </li><li>Measures, mixes, and compounds automated TPNs, irrigations, chemotherapy drugs, and parenteral and oral medications in specified volumes, dosages, and concentrations. </li><li>Prepares special dilutions of non-controlled and controlled substances, IV, and research study medications as needed. Labels and records manufactured medications as required. </li><li>Monitors, restocks, and rotates supplies, including controlled substances, removing and replacing outdated products, and processing related patient charges and credits. Restocks emergency code cart trays and prepares and maintains corresponding logs and records. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy. </li><li>Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcare Association. </li><li>Completion of a Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy approved training program or a minimum of 500 hours worked as a pharmacy technician trainee. </li></ul> <p>Boston Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits.</p>
