<p>Anticipated End Date:</p> <p>2026-05-30</p> <p>Position Title:</p> <p>Project Director</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Project Director</p> <p>Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.</p> <p>Please note that per our policy on hybrid/virtual work, candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.</p> <p>The Project Director is responsible for end-to-end program, project, and product delivery by identifying key people to bring about change and developing a network of contacts and targets specific people to achieve project goals and objectives.</p> <p>How you will make an impact:</p> <ul> <li>Manages large-scale FEP (Federal Employee Program) initiatives across all business units, in partnership with FEP IT, leading delivery from product strategy alignment through execution, including technical implementation and operational readiness. </li><li>Acts as a dual Project Manager, supporting product strategy execution (prioritization, sequencing, roadmaps, value realization) alongside project lifecycle strategy and implementation in any FEP business unit (especially Shared Services) </li><li>Partners with product and delivery teams to drive strategic product roadmaps through execution, translating priorities into integrated delivery plans and ensuring alignment from planning through implementation and value realization. </li><li>Determines project and program scope; collaborates to drive risk, quality, cost, and scope management across the end-to-end project management plan and project management lifecycle. </li><li>Manages multiple concurrent, large-scale initiatives, coordinating requirements development and documentation, delivery schedules, implementation, and post-implementation activities. </li><li>Develops and maintains project governance artifacts, including project approval matrices, decision frameworks, and escalation paths. </li><li>Coordinates and manages vendor and partner engagements, including defining requirements, recommending, and securing contractual agreements for services and products, and developing and managing service-level agreements. </li><li>Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase, establishes critical success factors, and manages warranty and stabilization periods to ensure sustained delivery outcomes. </li><li>Influences at all levels of the organization, often setting strategy and direction, and providing decision-ready insights to enable effective executive governance. </li><li>Coach and mentors project team members and mentors other project managers on project management methodology, tools, and execution best practices. </li><li>Coordinates business readiness end to end singular view across programs, including training, communications, cutover planning, and operational readiness. </li><li>Ensures initiatives launch with minimal operational disruption and are supported by effective post-launch stabilization and adoption monitoring. </li><li>Partners with business, operations, product, and technology leaders to anticipate and address organizational change, readiness risks, and operational impacts early in the delivery lifecycle. </li><li>Drives sustained adoption and operational stability to ensure solutions achieve intended business outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 9 years professional project management experience, which at least 7 years are spent leading and directing large project tasks; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:</p> <ul> <li>Awareness of significant contributing factors to manage project change and demonstration of a solid understanding of end to end business processes and the critical IT dependencies strongly preferred. </li><li>Masters in Project Mgt preferred. </li><li>Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. </li><li>Utilization Management, Care Management and or Disease Management experience. </li></ul> <p>For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $125,840 to $197,340.</p> <p>Location(s): Costa Mesa, CA, Chicago, IL</p> <p>In addition to your salary, Elevance Health offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
