<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Located within the Bureau of Land and Water Resources and operating under close progressing to general supervision of the Soil and Watershed Conservation Section Manager, the Conservation Grants Specialist assists in managing department soil and water conservation grant programs administered under Chapters 92 and 93, Wis. Stats. This includes Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grants and Nutrient Management Farmer Education Grants. This position works as part of a team charged with statewide leadership for partnerships, programs, policy, outreach, financial assistance, and technical assistance related to the promotion and implementation of water quality and soil health practices. Core responsibilities of this position include managing and analyzing program data, generating program summaries and reports, leading the contracting process for program participants, processing reimbursement requests from program participants, managing and maintaining training equipment, and communicating relevant program information with grant participants and stakeholders.</p> <p>For more information, please review the full position description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The classification for this position is Grant Specialist which is in schedule-range 07-04 with starting pay between $28.00 - $31.00 per hour based on qualifications. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.</p> <p>A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license or the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes is required.</p> <p>Occasional in-state travel of approximately 5% of the time with occasional overnight stays, is required.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified candidates must have each of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience processing payments, which may include verifying expenses for reimbursement. </li><li>Experience interpreting and applying complex grant information such as grant applications, requests for proposals, contracts, laws, or regulations. </li><li>Experience managing grant data, including data entry, analysis, and reporting. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the minimum qualifications above, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with conservation or agricultural grant programs. </li><li>Experience coordinating grant projects between governments and other institutions for grant management, reimbursements, and reporting. </li><li>Experience planning and conducting grant program events, such as trainings, workshops, webinars, partner meetings, and public meetings. </li></ul> <p>It is critically important your application materials clearly describe your experience related to the stated criteria.
