We are looking for a School Nurse to support our Summer School Program and Extended School Year students and hope you'll join us.</p> <p>Interview Process: If selected for an interview, you will be invited to participate in an in person interview.</p> <p>Location: Mountain View Elementary and Shelton High School</p> <p>Dates: 6/22/2026 - 7/23/2026; (Monday through Thursday, no summer school on Fridays). There will be some required meetings prior to the start of summer programs to prepare as well as set up for Summer Program student files/medications/health plans.</p> <p>Hours: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM</p> <p>Salary: Per diem</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The goal of the Summer School Nurse is to advance the well-being and academic success of students in the Summer School Program at Shelton School District.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be a current Shelton School District Nurse. </li><li>Must possess valid teaching certificate. </li><li>Possession of a positive attitude. </li><li>Ability to collaborate with peers and administration. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff, students, and families. </li><li>Regular attendance required. </li><li>Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Build meaningful relationships with students </li><li>Assessing health needs of students </li><li>Developing emergency care plans and individual health care plans </li><li>Providing care for ill, injured, and medically fragile children </li><li>Identifying health problems that require referral for proper treatment </li><li>Promoting health and safety </li><li>Ensuring that District health care practices comply with the law </li><li>Training unlicensed assistive personnel to manage health care needs in the nurse's absence </li><li>Teaching students how to care for their own health </li><li>Servicing as a health care resource to staff </li><li>Refine and strengthen your instructional practices </li><li>Change the trajectory for students who need us most </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul>
