Paraeducators help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that nurtures both the academic and social-emotional development of students in New London's diverse, internationally minded school community.</p> <p>TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Under supervision of a licensed teacher, sets up, distributes, and collects instructional materials. </li><li>Assists in classroom management and instructional support of students. </li><li>Supports the teacher with non-instructional tasks (e.g., supervision, organization). </li><li>Participates in in-service training and professional development. </li><li>Follows program rules, guidelines, and regulations. </li><li>Performs related tasks as assigned by the teacher, principal, or designee. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree, 60 college credits, or High School Diploma with a passing score on the ParaPro Exam. </li><li>Effective oral and written communication skills with students, staff, and parents. </li><li>Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year to be established by the Board.</p> <p>SALARY: $18.82 per hour</p> <p>New London Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.</p> <p>Candidates from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.</p>
