<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Lead Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking concepts, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of network engineers. This includes architecture design, development, build, capacity and performance planning, documentation of deployed networking frameworks, Level 3 support, and the ongoing evaluations of core technologies for these areas. The Lead Network Engineer will ensure the network operates efficiently, securely, and reliably to meet the needs of the business while adhering to standards and best practices.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities</p> <p>Network Design and Implementation:</p> <ul> <li>Design, plan, and implement network solutions, including LANs, WANs, WLANs, and VPNs. </li><li>Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software technologies. </li><li>Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Network Management and Maintenance:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues. </li><li>Perform network maintenance and upgrades, including patching, firmware updates, and hardware replacements. </li><li>Manage and maintain network security devices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN concentrators. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to understand network requirements. </li><li>Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. </li><li>Participate in IT planning and strategy meetings. </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership and Mentoring:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and support. </li><li>Assign tasks and projects to team members and monitor progress. </li><li>Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. </li></ul> <p>Security:</p> <ul> <li>Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures. </li><li>Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans. </li><li>Respond to security incidents and breaches. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends. </li><li>Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for network infrastructure. </li><li>Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts. </li><li>Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 6+ years of experience in network engineering. </li><li>Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including SD-WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewalls. </li><li>Experience with network security best practices. </li><li>Experience with network monitoring and management tools. </li><li>Experience leading and mentoring a team. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher </li><li>CompTIA Security+ </li><li>Other relevant certifications </li><li>Ability to decode and analyze packet captures </li><li>Hands-on experience with Meraki Dashboard and Cisco DNA </li><li>Experience with Infoblox Grid management suite. </li></ul>
