<p>Special Education Paraprofessional - Hansel Elementary JobID: 1029</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Support Staff/Instructional Assistant</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>12/10/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Hansel Elementary School</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Job Title: Instructional Aide - Special Education</p> <p>Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt</p> <p>Dept./School: Campus Assigned</p> <p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>Work under general supervision of teacher and administrator in assigned position as a classroom aide.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <p>High school diploma or GED</p> <p>Valid Texas Paraprofessional Certificate</p> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <p>Ability to work well with children and teachers</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively</p> <p>Ability to manage a classroom and assist in planning instruction</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>One year experience working with children</p> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <p>Instructional Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist teachers and students in use of appropriate educational resources. </li><li>Works collaboratively with and follows directions of the supervising teacher. </li><li>Demonstrates initiative in planning for the instructional needs of students </li><li>Provides basic care to special needs student as directed by supervising teacher and principal </li></ul> <p>Student Management</p> <ul> <li>Manage student behavior. </li><li>Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. </li><li>Keep teacher and/or administrator informed of special needs or problems of individual students. </li></ul> <p>Other</p> <ul> <li>Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. </li><li>Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <p>None.</p> <p>Equipment Used:</p> <p>Copier, personal computer, and audiovisual equipment.</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:</p> <p>Maintain emotional control under stress.
