We are seeking a EVS Supervisor-Building/Grounds Specialist III, who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness. If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.</p> <p>As the EVS Supervisor-Building/Grounds Specialist II, you will assist the Director of Environmental Services with supervision of personnel; provide the best possible standard of cleanliness and sanitation in patient areas, office areas and common areas of the facility. In the absence of the Director of Environmental Services in this capacity; develop and conduct in-service training in Environmental Services techniques.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the EVS Supervisor- Building/Grounds Specialist II include:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the daily supervision of custodial workers; plan, schedule and assign individual workers to work areas to include special projects. </li><li>Make daily rounds within the hospital to determine if work areas are properly staffed; inspect for deficiencies in cleaning and condition of </li></ul> <p>maintenance. Participate in accomplishing work assignments as needed. Assist with laundry as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Train and supervise new and current custodial workers in job duties and safety regulations. Provide the appropriate in-service training on an ongoing basis to include age-specific competency, safe handling of chemicals, safe operation of equipment, etc. </li><li>Provide input on Employee Performance System Planning Stages and evaluations. Help solve minor disciplinary problems; refer major problems to Department Director; assist in interviewing and selecting employees for custodial and laundry positions. </li><li>Responsible for ensuring cleaning supplies are replenished along with daily maintenance and repair of all Environmental Services equipment. Assess need for and insure availability of all necessary supplies and equipment. Note damaged or malfunctioning equipment and takes the necessary action to repair. Responsible for the proper issue, use, and storage of supplies. </li><li>Assist with continually monitoring the productivity and quality of the work of the Environmental Services staff. Conduct unannounced checks. Ensure proper utilization and application of pesticides. Assist with supervision and monitoring the productivity and quality of clean linen distributed throughout the facility. </li><li>Help develop a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for Environmental Services equipment. Assist in evaluating new cleaning and laundry products and supplies; make recommendations regarding equipment. Responsible for the safe storage and distribution of EVS materials and machinery within the facility. </li><li>Serve as Director of Environmental Services in the absence of the Director. </li><li>Maintain clinical competency by mastering required mandatory/non-mandatory in-services or training, such as MAPS/MANDT, CPR, Pathlore, Infection Control etc. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma and 2 years' experience in custodial services required. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Frequent bending, stooping, lifting of 50 lbs; pushing and pulling, moving and operating floor care equipment; and manual dexterity required. </li><li>Must be able to work in patient areas. </li><li>Must be able to see and hear. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. </li><li>Supervisory experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Post hire, employees must:</p> <ul> <li>Have working knowledge of the Environmental Services functions and be familiar with proper use and maintenance of Environmental Services Equipment. </li><li>Be capable of guiding/instructing subordinates on proper cleaning methods and aseptic techniques. </li><li>Effectively supervise the work of others. </li></ul> <p>The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions including, but not limited, to lactation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
