<p>Position Title: Maintenance Technician III - Support Specialist</p> <p>Pay Grade: 13 Period of Employment: 12 months</p> <p>Description Approved/ Revised: 06/2024 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Supervised by and/or Reports to: Crew Leader</p> <p>General Responsibilities: Primary electrician that oversees security systems to include access badge management. Provide support to custodial services division wide.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <p>(This list is intended solely as an illustration of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude their addition if they are similar to or a logical extension of the position.)</p> <ul> <li>Services, inspects, and maintains security control systems to include camera and other access control devices. </li><li>Services, inspects, and maintains fire alarm systems. </li><li>Services, inspects, and maintains intrusion alarm systems. </li><li>Supports camera system assistance when directed by Central Office Administration. </li><li>Completes work order requests in a timely manner. </li><li>Repairs food service and custodial equipment. </li><li>Delivers excellent customer service. </li><li>Installs security and life safety systems. </li><li>Assists with snow removal. </li><li>Oversees custodial supplies, equipment selection, and deliverables. </li><li>Assists with PPE, and safety gear for custodians. </li><li>Oversees, and schedules divisional floating custodial assignments. </li><li>Evaluates tool and equipment needs for electrician technicians. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Awareness of fire and health safety as they pertain to facilities. </li><li>Knowledge of the occupational hazards of any task. </li><li>Ability to read and follow directions. </li><li>Ability to work with others. </li><li>Ability to do some moderate lifting and/or moving of furniture. </li><li>Serve as role model. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate in person, electronically, and by phone. </li><li>Willingness to attend skills workshops and/or seminars as needed. </li><li>Ability to use email, and Microsoft office. </li><li>Ability to read/understand blueprints and wiring diagrams. </li></ul> <p>Requisite Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia Driver License. </li><li>Experience with computers and software. </li><li>Experience with intelligent fire alarm communication framework. </li><li>Must possess basis diagnostic skills used to troubleshoot control systems. </li><li>Must possess basic electrical circuit fundamentals. </li><li>Electrician tradesman license preferred </li><li>Experience with internet protocol camera systems. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
