<p>We are currently accepting applications for an energetic, experienced Houseperson to join the team here at Embassy Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista South. Our award-winning property is 300 suites with 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting, pre-function, and event space. We have a well-tenured management team, which runs this very busy hotel and convention center in an exceptional manner with high standards, expectations, and strong results orientation.</p> <p>Scope of Position</p> <p>The Houseperson is responsible for assisting the Suite Attendants by providing the necessary supplies needed to complete the cleanliness of the rooms in a timely manner as well as the removal of the linen and trash from their carts.</p> <p>Position Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Previous housekeeping experience preferred. </li><li>Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision. </li><li>Ability to focus attention on guest needs. </li><li>Adhere to safety, rules and company policies. </li><li>Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/ machinery. </li></ul> <p>Primary Responsibilitie</p> <ul> <li>Greets guests immediately with friendly and sincere acknowledgment. </li><li>Follows all daily projects as assigned. </li><li>Guest corridors, elevator landings, trash, vending areas, guest laundry, recycled bins and stairs are cleaned on a daily basis and carpets are vacuumed in compliance with the hotels standards of quality and productivity. </li><li>Delivers items requested by the guests and/or suite attendants promptly. </li><li>Maintains carts and work areas cleaned and organized. </li><li>Maintains suite attendants with proper stock of clean linens, towels, amenities, and supplies. </li><li>Removes trash and dirty linens from suite attendant carts and hallways. </li><li>Maintains linen and trash chutes clean and organized. </li><li>Maintains proper level of supplies and amenities in stock. </li><li>Uses safety signs when cleaning floors/carpets in public areas. </li><li>Assist suite attendants as required with the stripping of trash and linens in the guest rooms. </li><li>Spot cleans carpets and furniture. </li><li>Cleans and returns equipment to assigned storage areas. </li><li>Reports all maintenance issues, damaged or missing property. </li><li>Report any suspicious activity. </li><li>Ensures that radio and telephone etiquette is followed and radio calls answered immediately. </li><li>Promptly returns all loss and found items. </li><li>Follows key control policy. </li><li>Displays a professional image at all times through appearance, dress and conduct. </li><li>Maintains and adheres to our company values. </li><li>Work on projects determined by the housekeeping department </li><li>Upholds and follows company's policies and procedures. </li><li>Follows all safety standards such as Hazardous Communications, Blood borne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Proper Lifting Techniques, and Housekeeping Safety. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate in the English language (Second language is a plus). </li><li>Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. </li><li>Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends. </li><li>Able to perform multiple tasks. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 100 pounds. </li><li>Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift (up to 8 hours) </li></ul> <p>The statements in this job description are intended to describe the essential nature and level of work being performed.
