The Elevator Inspection Section approves plans, specifications, and issues permits for the installation of all new, altered, or relocated elevators, freight elevators, escalators, moving walks, dumbwaiters, material lifts, stairway chairlifts, wheelchair lifts, vertical reciprocating conveyors, and other related devices to be installed in public or residential applications. Additionally, inspects and issues certificates of operation on a yearly basis and investigates any incidents or accidents involving elevators, escalators, moving walks, and related equipment.</p> <p>This position requires a Certification of Competency, administered by HBC. HBC will offer the test on Wednesday May 14th, at 1:00 p.m., at 500 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY 40601.
