<p>This unpaid internship is designed to give a technical theater student a well-rounded, hands-on experience in a professional performance and events space. The internship is a 100-hour position scheduled to align with the Spring 2026 semester ending in May. </p> <ul> <li>Assists with audio/visual equipment needs for a variety of productions and events, including equipment assembly, monitoring, breakdown, transport and storage. </li><li>Works with Audio-Video Production Specialists to ensure flawlessly executed events through timely set up, operation and breakdown of advanced audio/visual equipment. </li><li>Works professionally with a diverse customer base to successfully support events; and provides excellent and courteous service to internal and external customers. </li><li>Works with Cultural Arts Center staff to smoothly communicate between production support staff, audience members and other stakeholders. </li><li>Works calmly in high pressure environments and public settings. </li><li>Creative and collaborative spirit, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn. </li><li>Must be enrolled in an accredited program for a degree in theater, business, or related area. </li><li>Valid driver's license and/ or reliable transportation. </li><li>Ability to regularly lift or move 50lbs and stand for long periods of time. </li><li>Availability to be on-site evening & weekends. </li><li>Contact information for 2 professional or academic contacts such as a faculty advisor, instructor, or internship coordinator. </li><li>Additional Requirements, Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment. </li><li>Knowledge of audio and video equipment, sound systems, projection systems, event lighting and stage set up is a plus. </li><li>Knowledge of Windows based computer software and computers is a plus. </li><li>Skill in operation and troubleshooting of audio/video equipment and lighting for small and large productions and events is a plus. </li></ul> <p>The position will be under the supervision of the Performing Arts Program Coordinator. Hours will primarily be evenings and weekends, based on events and performances scheduled. Intern will assist with a variety of tasks including but not limited to sound production, light design, projection, technical maintenance, event set-up, stage management and front of house duties. By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to operate as a self-sufficient crew member of a production team and feel comfortable working in all aspects of events and productions.</p>
