<p>Operating Room Registered Nurse Manager</p> <p>Florida Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center-Cypress is hiring an OR Manager</p> <p>Florida Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center-Cypress is an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tampa, Florida.</p> <ul> <li>Ambulatory surgery centers (or outpatient surgery centers) are healthcare facilities where surgical procedures not requiring an overnight hospital stay are performed. Florida Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center-Cypress is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. </li></ul> <p>Florida Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center-Cypress is now seeking a full time Operating Room Manager, Registered Nurse.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the OR area including Central Sterile. </li><li>Ensures that Standard Universal Precautions, the National Patient Safety Goals, and principles of aseptic and sterile technique are used appropriately. </li><li>Evaluates nursing activities to ensure proper patient care and staff relations. </li><li>Coordinates patient care with business office, pre-op, ORs, and post-op. </li><li>Efficiency of patient care in the ORs. </li><li>Coordinates with physicians, medical staff, and the clinical director to ensure that effective communication is consistently being maintained. </li><li>Coordinates with Materials Manager for equipment, special equipment, and that supplies are available for upcoming surgical cases; and resolves any issues/problems </li><li>Coordinates onboarding and orientation of new employees. </li><li>Oversees environmental hazard and participates with emergency preparedness processes and drills. </li><li>Implements safe practices and provides knowledgeable guidance and evaluation of hazardous materials, waste management, emergency preparedness, infection control, safe use of medical equipment, and supplies. </li><li>Participates in review and revision of the policies and procedures at the Surgery Center. </li><li>Assists with interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, and training of staff. </li><li>Communicate with surgeons and anesthesia to address issues quickly and appropriately. </li><li>Oversees all OR equipment training, maintenance, repair, and communicates needs and updates to administrative leadership </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Job Summary</p> <ul> <li>This is a full time position, Monday through Friday </li><li>No nights, weekends, or on-call </li><li>The manager is responsible to make sure OR surgery staffing, supplies, and equipment are available for scheduled surgeries </li><li>The manager is a professional with proven but flexible strategies to allow for continued growth and expansion for the business. </li><li>The manager should be able to solve problems quickly and effectively using experience and skills to deal with staff at all levels within the organization. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing. </li><li>Current Florida RN License </li><li>3-5 years experience in surgery as circulator </li><li>Two (2) years experience in surgery management which includes pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care. </li><li>CNOR preferred </li><li>Independent decision making skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. </li><li>Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians </li></ul>
