Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City's storm water drainage system and support of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.</p> <ul> <li>Recognize the components of and assist in the performance of a variety of construction, repair and maintenance duties on the storm water drainage systems. </li><li>Mowing, Trimming, repair and maintenance of drainage right-of-ways. </li><li>Perform storm water main, line and service pipe installation. </li><li>Repair and maintenance of lines. </li><li>Assist vacall operator in flushing and cleaning of lines, manholes and truck maintenance. </li><li>Assist grading and excavating of earthen ditches, cleaning concrete lined ditch, transportation of rubble and debris from grading and concrete projects. </li><li>Operate a pick-up truck, crew truck, dump truck, crew van, skid steer, front loader or other vehicles as assigned. </li><li>Assist with hot patch and asphalt replacement and repair. </li><li>Place barricades around work in progress to prevent accidents and pick up barricades after work has been completed in accordance to the MUTCD standards. </li><li>Assist in removing concrete, roadways and sidewalks by the use of various types of hand tools and other equipment. </li><li>Perform various routine, semi-skilled construction and maintenance as needed. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires High School Diploma or GED </li><li>No experience required </li><li>A valid driver's license is required.
