<p>Position Overview</p> <p>Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Varsity/Middle School Co-Ed Cross Country Coach. The Coach is responsible for leading student-athletes in developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while adhering to all school and league policies. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Coaching & Team Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and conduct regular practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.</p> </li><li> <p>Instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals of the sport while fostering personal and athletic growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements and adhere to team expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote leadership, integrity, and discipline among athletes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Administrative & Compliance</p> <ul> <li> <p>Adhere to all Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and Codman Academy Charter Public School policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and submit all required paperwork for participation, including rosters, waivers, and health records.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet all deadlines set by CACPS Athletics for scheduling and participation requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule all non-conference competitions and manage transportation logistics for practices and games.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend all required pre-season and post-season meetings organized by the Athletics Department.</p> </li></ul> <p>Equipment & Safety</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain and inventory athletic equipment and uniforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure a safe and respectful practice and competition environment for all athletes.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor student-athlete well-being and communicate any concerns to school administrators.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and experience leading and organizing a team.</p> </li><li> <p>CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of annual Youth Sports Concussion Training Certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and leadership skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Join Codman Academy?</p> <p>Codman Academy is committed to developing student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.
