This work unit exists to provide full dining services for 180 nursing home residents, catering and staff meals. Responsible for three balanced, nutritious meals daily, meet all dietary needs of all residents as per physician orders, meals are served in a timely manner, at the correct temperature, accurately maintain diet cards, within state and federal regulations. Maintains a sanitary and safe work unit</p> <p>What You'll be Doing:</p> <ul> <li>Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers </li><li>Communicates immediately and directly with Food Service Director of any department concerns </li><li>Main kitchen sanitation to include Maintains all kitchen equipment according to set guidelines, Follows kitchen and satellite daily and weekly cleaning checklist, Cleans each piece of equipment after each use, Cleans kitchen, equipment and floors at end of each shift, Washes and sanitizes pots and pans, Washes down walls, racks, and floors in walk in refrigerators, Cleans and sanitizes all kitchen food service equipment., Collects and disposes of trash, Maintains dumpster trash area </li><li>Prepares all aspects of meals to food safety standards, visual appeal, palatability for residents </li><li>Follows standardized recipes </li><li>Prepares enough of all menu items for residents </li><li>Prepares enough therapeutic diets in the appropriate texture and temperature </li><li>Monitors temperatures of main kitchen, satellites and other appropriate areas where food is served and maintains daily record. </li><li>Attend scheduled in-services, trainings, and meetings. </li><li>Trains new employees on the functions of the job. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights</p> <p>Experience Only</p> <p>Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in food service Certification of ServSafe Class </li><li>At least one year of food service experience working in a hospital or long-term care environment </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Full Background CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons): </li></ul> <p>CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services),Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults - Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)</p> <ul> <li>Essential services is required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency. </li><li>Shift work required based on facility needs and will be required to work </li></ul> <p>overtime as a part of this position.
