<p>Position Title: Deburr Technician</p> <p>Position Summary: Files grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects to conform to blueprint specification. Grinds and polishes contoured metal surfaces to drawings, using hand tools.</p> <p>Reports To: Machine Shop, Fabrication or Manufacturing Cell Team Leader</p> <p>Personnel: Not applicable.</p> <p>Accountabilities: Deburring personnel are responsible for producing conforming components that meet applicable blue print requirements. All SOP's and WI's must be followed and a safe, clean and organized work area must be maintained.</p> <p>Authorities: Not applicable</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Study blueprint or layout on work pieces, and selects files/abrasive tools according to material, size and shape of work, and amount of stock to be removed, applying knowledge of filing procedures. </li><li>Manipulate powered hand grinder to remove bead, grind curved surfaces to specified radii, remove machining marks, and smooth die surfaces. </li><li>File work pieces surface to layout lines, and inspects with magnifying glass. </li><li>Stone surfaces of cavity and gutters to drawing. </li><li>Verify conformity of finished work pieces by positioning work pieces against template or other part, or by measuring dimensions, using instruments, such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and surface gauges. </li><li>Smooth and polish work pieces with emery cloth or power grinder and feels surface with fingers for smoothness. </li><li>Visually and tactually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness. </li><li>Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities. </li><li>Operate computer programs associated with operating cell </li><li>Clean around work areas, using broom and shovel. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Educational Experience - High school diploma or GED</p> <p>Experience -</p> <p>Physical Demands - The employee is required to:</p> <ul> <li>stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor </li><li>exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or </li><li>exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or </li><li>exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. </li></ul> <p>Certification Required - Desired but not required, crane and lifting and rigging certification</p> <p>Visual Acuity - Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.</p> <p>Hearing Ability - Accommodations needed to communicate with employees.</p> <p>Working Conditions - The employee is subject to:</p> <ul> <li>high noise levels from operating machines </li><li>physical hazards from moving equipment and production components </li><li>breathing fumes, dust and mist </li><li>skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids. </li></ul> <p>The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.</p> <p>Attendance is an essential job function.</p> <p>We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>
