<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>JM Steel is seeking an Estimator/Draftsman/Detailer who will create fabrication drawings based on given specifications and calculations provided by production team; estimate projects costs and quotations; program machinery.</p> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Associate Degree in Drafting Required; Professional Certification in Mechanical Drafting Preferred </li><li>CAD Software Experience Required; Mechanical Manufacturing Processes Preferred </li><li>Valid Driver's License Required </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications </li><li>Understanding of steel manufacturing and fabrication processes </li><li>Proficient information gathering and monitoring skills to facilitate effective, unbiased decision making and problem solving functions </li><li>Verbal/written communication skills to present information or ideas clearly to personnel at all levels of operations, purchasing, and plant management </li><li>A team mentality with a quality and safety-oriented mindset </li><li>Workable knowledge of Microsoft Office </li><li>Proficient knowledge of operational functions of fabrication machinery </li><li>Dependability to be consistently at work and on time with ability to travel as required </li><li>Close visual acuity, near/far vision, fine manipulation, verbal interaction skills, and multiple limb coordination </li><li>Repetitive sitting, standing, walking, and/or bending capability during normal phase duties </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Review/analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation presented by operations team and accurately prepare and estimate projects. </li><li>Develop estimates, pricing, proposal formats for submittal to project/operations personnel. </li><li>Track estimated/actual costs to determine project profit margins. </li><li>Communicate with company Purchasing Dept. and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and determine estimated lead times. </li><li>Work directly with sales, engineering, and production to understand size and scope of projects plus timelines and applicable project deadlines. </li><li>Program machines as required. </li><li>Perform any other duties as directed by management personnel to ensure efficient operation of facility. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Majority of work performance is conducted in a steel service center plant using heavy production machinery, material handling and job-specific equipment and tools and a climate-controlled plant/sales office that contains office machinery and equipment.
