<p>Community Health Alliance is looking for a per Part-time/Per Diem Physician Assistant. Join our talented team of healthcare providers that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income. Please note that we are currently hiring for part-time and per diem positions only. Full-time opportunities are not available at this time.</p> <p>We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.</p> <p>Job Summary: The Physician Assistant is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries as part of the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) care delivery model in a Family Medicine setting; provides comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis; and may, at certain locations, provide a continuum of care into inpatient and/or residential settings.</p> <p>At Community Health Alliance a Nonprofit (FQHC), we believe in having a professional, team-oriented medical community. This is an employee benefit paid for and sponsored by Community Health Alliance. </li><li>Additional supplemental voluntary benefits available for purchase </li></ul> <p>Benefits are pro-rated on part time basis based on the FTE status.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a medical clinic and office </li><li>Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding </li><li>Knowledge of and ability to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries in a Family Practice model setting </li><li>Knowledge of, skills related to and ability to treat medical and surgical emergencies </li><li>Skill in operating personal computer utilizing word processing, databases and e-mail </li><li>Skill in operating various office equipment: calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and telephone </li><li>Skill in operating various medical office equipment, such as; EKG machine, pulse oximeter, nebulizer, spirometer, audiology, sterilizers, etc. </li><li>Ability to work as a team member of an interdisciplinary care delivery model known as the Patient-Centered Medical Home and Team Care Medicine model. </li><li>Ability to hold a State Pharmacy Dispensing License and dispense medications (dependent upon health center location) </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, patient financial and medical information </li><li>Ability to read, write legibly, calculate mathematical figures and medication doses </li><li>Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of variables </li><li>Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions </li><li>Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinics and overall CHA's organization </li><li>Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner </li><li>Ability to provider culturally-competent care to all patient types regardless of age, race, gender, or ethnicity. Spanish language proficiency helpful but not required. </li><li>Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc. </li><li>Ability to hear and speak to converse over telephone and interview patients </li><li>Ability to see to accurately calculate and administer doses of medication and perform physical exams </li><li>Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis </li><li>Reasonable accommodation will be made for physical limitations on an individual basis </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited program of Physician Assistants; certified by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners as a Physician Assistant. Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a community health center or rural health setting preferred but not required. Must be licensed in the State of Nevada.</p>
