<p>At the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center (ADC), we believe in the power of effective communication to drive change, foster engagement, and build meaningful connections. We're looking for a dynamic and experienced public information professional to join our innovative team to fill the position of Senior Communications Analyst. In this role, you will elevate our brand narrative through concise communication, shape our digital presence, and drive social media strategies that will deliver agency messaging.</p> <p>The ideal candidate must possess a clear and persuasive communication style, a commitment to customer service and teamwork, drive our branding with innovation and creativity, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Candidates who are invited to interview will be asked to provide a portfolio of relevant work samples; preference will be given to candidates with a strong portfolio.</p> <p>ABOUT THIS ROLE:</p> <p>As a Senior Communications Analyst, you will develop and execute communication strategies that align with our agency's mission and public safety goals. This role requires an advanced understanding of public affairs, media relations, branding and expertise with current social media platforms. You will work closely with senior leadership and staff to execute all agency communication initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to, media relations, ADC website management, ADC administrative oversight, event planning and participation. The successful candidate must be comfortable with a variety of media platforms to include social media, television, print and radio. </p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (These responsibilities are a representative sample; other assigned duties may apply.) </p> <ul> <li>Serves as agency liaison with County communications partners; performs public relations support and represents the agency in applicable meetings, public events, training sessions, committees, and other related forums. </li><li>Coordinates with internal departments and staff to determine and evaluate communication needs, goals, key messages, and target audiences for website content, advertising and various communication mediums; measures progress tasks, projects and goals, maintains and monitors website content. </li><li>Researches, drafts, edits, and reviews written materials including digital content, graphics, reports, newsletters, and press releases. </li><li>Develops and implements comprehensive advertising and social media strategies aligned with overall communication and marketing goals. </li><li>Identifies and leverages relevant social media platforms and channels to maximize reach and engagement. </li><li>Coordinates with staff to ensure effective outreach; plans and manages special events; covers events; conferences, or other activities; work may involve interviewing people, taking photographs, and updating communication channels. </li><li>Maintains database or records of reports, documents, and other materials. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Professional communication style. </li><li>Effective communication skills to establish favorable public image with media, officials, and the public. </li><li>Superior customer service skills. </li><li>Strong writing, editing, and grammar skills. </li><li>Using applicable software applications and programs. </li><li>Understanding/reading analytics. </li><li>Proficient familiarity with AP style. </li><li>Demonstrated experience applying user interface designs. </li><li>Experience planning, initiating, and evaluating programs. </li><li>Dedication to contributing to a positive team culture. </li></ul> <p>PREFERENCES:</p> <ul> <li>3 or more years of professional public information, marketing, branding, or other comparable industry experience </li><li>Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public administration or related field. </li><li>2 or more years of supervisory experience. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</p> <p> High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related experience.</p> <p>SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p> Typical schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (37.5 hrs./wk.). Schedule will require flexibility as needed for agency or event needs.</p> <p>SALARY RANGE: </p> <p> $70,921.50 - $125,014.50 Annually</p> <ul> <li>Starting salary beyond minimum is based on verified related work experience. Typical hiring range is between minimum and midpoint. Please submit a copy of current resume with application* </li></ul> <p>FLSA: EXEMPT</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver's license. </li><li>Must pass a criminal history background investigation to include fingerprint and driving record check. </li><li>Must pass a polygraph examination. </li><li>Must pass a pre-employment medical assessment. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p> Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. May also require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
