With a strong and growing presence in lung, prostate, and bladder cancer-and a rapidly growing pipeline that includes head and neck and colorectal cancers-this role plays a critical part in crafting the external environment and accelerating growth across key oncology brands.</p> <p>The primary focus of this role is to build awareness and excitement for our solid tumor therapies among U.S. healthcare professionals through bold, informative earned, owned, and paid communications. The Director will also build and maintain trusted relationships with patient advocacy organizations, partnering with patients and advocates to co-create communications programs that support our business objectives and deliver value to the patient community.</p> <p>This individual will lead a small, high-performing team, with a focus on coaching, developing capabilities, and fostering a culture of excellence as we build toward a world-class Communications & Public Affairs (CPA) organization.</p> <p>Additionally, the role will help anticipate and navigate key public affairs and policy challenges, working cross-functionally to craft the external landscape and support access to Johnson & Johnson's oncology innovations. The Director will also collaborate with the portfolio agile team to develop internal communications programs that inform, engage, and inspire employees</p> <p>You will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li> <p>50% - Develop and implement innovative communication and public affairs strategies and programs in support of brand business objectives for J&J's Solid Tumor portfolio. Build and implement communications strategies to support the launch of our pipeline products and entry into new disease areas such as colorectal cancer, head and neck cancer and others..</p> </li><li> <p>20% - Lead and develop a small, high performing product communications team, with a strong focus on coaching, capability building and talent development as we build toward a world class Communications & Public Affairs organization.</p> </li><li> <p>15% - Build stakeholder trust through proactive advocacy efforts, with a key focus on engaging and supporting the patient advocate communities across our existing and emerging disease areas (including but not limited to lung cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, head and neck cancer and colorectal cancer).</p> </li><li> <p>15% - Build understanding of current issues in the environment affecting businesses and brands; in partnership with Public Affairs colleagues, develop and implement public affairs strategies that inform and shape belief, action, behavior and advocacy to shape the external environment</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Drive business growth through proactive public relations</p> </li><li> <p>Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day mentorship to a small product communications team.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain partner trust through effective management of sophisticated, significant issues: Proactively identify potential brand / franchise-related issues and develop issues-management strategies</p> </li><li> <p>Drive employee engagement and advocacy through powerful organizational communication: Partnering with business leaders, develop internal communication strategy and messages to inspire, engage, inform and align employees</p> </li><li> <p>Shape and influence business decisions and serve as trusted advisor to mid-level leaders, including marketing leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and curate content that is compelling, relevant and grounded in stakeholder understanding and insights.</p> </li><li> <p>Anticipate and address emerging market and internal realities to drive revenue and profitability</p> </li><li> <p>Build GCPA capability and excellence: Model and inspire a continuous improvement mentality to ensure function stays on the forefront of communications, change, technology, social media and other key trends</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>10+ years of experience leading communication in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven record of successful public relations/communications, corporate communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements</p> </li><li> <p>Up to 15% travel may be required.</p> </li></ul> <p>The anticipated base pay range for this position is :</p> <p>Anticipated base salary range is $146,000.00 - $251,850 USD.</p> <p>Additional Description for Pay Transparency:</p> <p>The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
