<p>Charge Nurse - Rehabilitation</p> <p>Part-Time</p> <p>Shift: Nights</p> <p>Schedule:12 hr shifts, rotating weekends</p> <p>Location: Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute - Madison, NJ</p> <p>Pay: $50/hr</p> <p>Charge Nurse Position Summary</p> <p>The Charge Nurse provides leadership, clinical guidance, and oversight of nursing operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care by coordinating staff assignments, supporting workflow, mentoring nursing staff, and promoting excellence in clinical practice. The Charge Nurse serves as the primary resource for staff collaboration, problem-solving, and escalation of clinical or operational concerns.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Leads and supports nursing staff to ensure effective delivery of patient-centered, evidence-based care </li><li>Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and promotes a culture of teamwork and accountability </li><li>Oversees daily staffing assignments based on patient acuity, census, and skill mix </li><li>Serves as a clinical mentor, providing real-time coaching, support, and guidance </li><li>Ensures timely and accurate documentation consistent with regulatory and hospital standards </li><li>Acts as a liaison between nurses, physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members </li><li>Responds to changes in patient condition and assists with higher-acuity interventions when needed </li><li>Participates in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and hospital compliance activities </li><li>Supports new nurse orientation and ongoing staff development </li><li>Facilitates effective communication across shifts, including handoff processes and incident reporting </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Experience in clinical leadership, precepting, or teaching is strongly preferred </li><li>Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and quality metrics </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program; BSN preferred</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Minimum of two years in a rehabilitative or acute care setting with demonstrated leadership ability (Charge Nurse or Preceptor experience preferred)</p> <p>License</p> <p>Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)</p> <p>Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required </li><li>Child and Adult Abuse Certification required (if applicable by state) </li><li>CRRN preferred </li></ul> <p>Your Experience Matters</p> <p>Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute, part of Lifepoint Rehabilitation and jointly operated with Atlantic Health System, is committed to supporting your professional well-being so you can provide exceptional patient care.
