<p>Our Design Engineer is primarily responsible for the overall design, technical effort and project management necessary to support the engineering, sale, production and product development of precast concrete products, including bridges, box culverts, retaining wall, etc. This includes production of shop drawings and design computations required to ensure that Fort Miller products comply with applicable codes, standards and accepted engineering practice.</p> <p>Why You'll Want to Be Part of FMG:</p> <p>Our Employee Ownership culture is at the heart of everything we do. This includes the production of shop drawings and design computations required to ensure our products are in compliance with applicable codes, standards and accepted engineering practices. </li><li>Regularly interface with all departments within Fort Miller Precast to provide technical assistance needed in our effort to produce quality products in a timely manner. This may include responding to questions and concerns regarding product design and providing technical assistance to improve the efficiency of the overall production process as requested. </li><li>Provide technical and design support to the research and development effort at Fort Miller Precast, assisting in development and design of new products. </li><li>Interface as needed with Sales and Marketing Services, reviewing incoming project specifications and providing them with quantities and types of materials required to meet those specifications, and providing other technical assistance and design information and details as required. </li><li>Interface regularly with customers, consulting engineers and outside agencies to provide technical assistance and support as required. This may include the development and presentation of technical information and visiting customer job sites as requested. </li><li>Provide on-site technical support as required. </li><li>Work closely with the Engineering Technicians, providing design calculations and supporting their efforts to develop and draft accurate shop drawings. </li><li>Have a keen sense to identify and/or develop opportunities to use precast concrete in applications traditionally done with cast in place techniques or other materials. </li></ul> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <ul> <li>BS in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline required. Emphasis on structural engineering strongly desired. </li><li>Familiarity with AutoCAD and appropriate codes, including AASHTO codes. </li><li>Strong math and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to work under extreme pressure to meet submittal deadlines. </li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and listening skills. </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision. </li><li>Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team. </li></ul> <p>Who we are:</p> <p>Fort Miller Precast is a subsidiary company of Fort Miller Group, an employee-owned company.
