Assists in emergency situations as directed. </li><li>Fosters sense of trust and collaboration among team members and other departments. </li></ul> <p>Professional Practice:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Takes ownership and pride in their job. </li><li>Respect the dignity and rights of the patient regardless of socioeconomic status, personal attributes, or nature of health problem. </li><li>Maintain each patient's right to privacy by protecting confidential information. </li><li>Supply Inventory/Department Maintenance. </li><li>Monitors stock supplies and materials and reports shortages. </li><li>Keeps the rooms and department areas neat and orderly. </li><li>Performs QA checks as directed. </li></ul> <p>Patient Care Delivery:</p> <p>*</p> <ul> <li>Clinical Care </li><li>Assists with Diagnostic Testing. </li><li>Coordinates scheduling of diagnostic tests as required. </li><li>Demonstrates competency and proficiency in the performing of cardiac stress testing. </li><li>Performs procedures according to departmental policy and procedures and physician order. </li><li>Performs patient education as required. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to accurately place patient on cardiac monitor. </li><li>Collaborates with the physician in evaluation of the patient's status during cardiac stress testing. </li><li>Able to identify abnormal cardiac rhythms. </li></ul> <p>Record Keeping</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates scheduling of diagnostic tests as required, keeping patient physician flow. </li><li>Documents patient care data on appropriate flow sheets. </li><li>Prepares test for physician interpretation. </li><li>Keeps accurate stress lab totals. </li></ul> <p>Maintains Equipment/Supplies</p> <ul> <li>Cleans and maintains diagnostic equipment as required. </li><li>Maintains adequate supplies in area. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to operate and trouble-shoot equipment. </li><li>Maintains daily check of defibrillator and crash cart. </li></ul> <p>Emergency Procedures/Education/Staff Role</p> <ul> <li>Responds immediately to emergency situations in the Diagnostic Cardiology and Respiratory Diagnostic areas. </li><li>Performs BLS as needed. </li></ul> <p>Resource Driven Practice:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Seek education and supervision as necessary. </li><li>Participates in councils, committees, and process improvement activities. </li><li>Has regular and prompt attendance. </li><li>Maintains current BLS certification. </li><li>Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings. </li><li>Completes skills and on-line learning. </li></ul> <p>Outcomes:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Receives patient feedback via call backs, leader rounds. </li></ul> <p>Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned. </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. </li><li>Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. </li><li>Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. </li><li>Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. </li><li>Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. </li><li>Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. </li><li>Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. </li><li>Complies with established organization and department policies. </li><li>Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way:</p> <ul> <li>Leverage innovation everywhere. </li><li>Cultivate human talent. </li><li>Embrace performance improvement. </li><li>Build greatness through accountability. </li><li>Use information to improve and advance. </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or Equivalent. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of job-related experience is required. Diagnostic Tech I for 2 years is preferred. Performs proficiently in at least 4 of the 6 diagnostic testing areas.</p> <p>Knowledge & Skills</p> <ul> <li>EKG/Stress - Cardiology background. </li><li>Must understand lead placement. </li><li>Be able to identify abnormal EKG patterns. </li><li>Must have reassuring and attentive personality characteristics. </li><li>Physiology - must have strong cardiac background. </li><li>Must have complete understanding of cardiac anatomy, pressures, normal and abnormal EKG rhythms. </li><li>Must be able to focus on duties in spite of distractions and pressure. </li><li>Keyboard skills are essential. </li><li>Reassuring/quiet personality required. </li><li>The staff member must also be able to work and elicit appropriate responses from a wide variety of patients. </li><li>The employee must be able to quickly analyze large volumes of data accurately. </li><li>Must be able to relay information to physicians. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>In all diagnostic areas the ability to focus on procedure despite distraction is essential.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.</p>
