The incumbent will be involved in immediate jeopardy situations as they arise and will also be part of a healthcare team for monitoring health emergencies; participate on recertification surveys as needed. The incumbent will be conducting onsite post survey revisits; responsible for writing and reviewing statements of deficiencies and case summary reports; reviewing data received from Central Intake on the ASPEN system, entering surveillance data into ASPEN, and uploading documents and summaries into electronic filing systems; reviewing data received from Central Intake on the ASPEN system, entering surveillance data into ASPEN, and uploading documents and summaries into electronic filing systems.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidate: Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as a Health Care Surveyor 2, G20.</p> <p>Non-Competitive: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two years of post-licensure, specialized professional administrative or professional clinical experience.</p> <p>Substitution: a bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Ability to actively participate on an interdisciplinary team, accept constructive criticism, and display constant professionalism as a representative of the Department. Excellent interview, observational, and writing skills, and an ability to translate collected information into legally defensible reports. Experience with the aged and aging population, especially in the provision of direct patient care as a human services or clinical professional, and an ability to appreciate how the aging process affects outcomes. Clinical knowledge and experience with Long Term Care and the aging population. Federal Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test certification. Good understanding and use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook as well as SharePoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and dedication.</p> <p>Additional Comments This position requires travel to areas often underserved by public transit. The successful incumbent must be flexible and available to work varied hours, which may include weekends and holidays, to respond to emergencies and/or provide guidance relative to off-hours investigations, as needed. Work hours to be determined at time of hire. Federal Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Training Certification is required within one year of the date of employment. *Specific work hours will be TBD within standard department hours.</p> <p>Posted Salary range includes the statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for PS&T Grade 20 ($84,173 - $94,121) plus an additional Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000) and Downstate Adjustment Pay ($4,000).</p> <p>This position is part of the NYS HELPS program.
