<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Michiana Christian Academy, in South Bend, IN is seeking a compassionate and qualified Part-Time Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in grades K-8. The ideal candidate will integrate faith-based values with instructional best practices to create an inclusive learning environment that meets each child's unique needs. This position would be ideal for a retired special education teacher.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct instruction to students with IEPs, 504 Plans, or identified learning challenges in individual or small-group settings. </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs. </li><li>Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with families and service providers. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress, accommodations, and interventions. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators to support student success. </li><li>Participate in student support meetings, parent conferences, and staff development activities. </li><li>Uphold and model Christian values in all aspects of teaching and interaction. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred) </li><li>Valid Indiana teaching credential with appropriate special education certification </li><li>Previous experience working with students in grades K-8 with learning differences </li><li>Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices </li><li>Commitment to the mission and values of Christian education </li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies </li><li>Experience in a private or faith-based school setting </li><li>Knowledge of educational technology tools that support learning accommodations </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Part-time schedule (flexible, based on student count & needs) </li><li>Small class sizes and supportive faith-based community </li><li>MCA has a math and reading interventionist, as well as a student mentor on staff </li><li>Opportunities for ongoing professional and spiritual development </li></ul> <p>Monthly $100 stipend to offset health insurance cost, when purchased through marketplace.</p>
