<p>Position Summary Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Position Summary The Environmental Services (EVS) Training Coordinator is responsible for the onboarding, training, and continued education of all environmental services/linen team members to include maintaining and auditing personnel training records. The position is responsible for coordinating and managing all processes related to TM training and development, staff retention improvement activities, patient experience, and satisfaction as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Association of Healthcare Environment (AHE) and other regulatory compliance training. Assists with development and monitoring EVS and procedures and contributes to department quality initiatives and programs serves as a member of the EVS Guidance Team Responsibilities Essential Functions • Conducts one-on-one training sessions using approved techniques, procedures, and educational materials in the training process. Provides instruction to new hires and current employees in various areas. • Properly demonstrates technical skills, including 3-step cleaning process for patient & non-patientrooms, isolation rooms, critical care areas, ER trauma units, and ancillary areas, including but notlimited to, restrooms/bathrooms, public areas, corridors, and any other areas that may require attention. • Cleaning dutiesinclude, but are notlimited to patient bed, furniture, lightfixtures, ceiling vents, windows, • Instructstraineesin proper proceduresfor replenishing supplies as needed. • Instructstraineesin the use of programsthatinclude the hospitals bed managementsystem. • Instructs in accomplishes these functions by pushing, pulling, cleaning carts, moving supplies and equipment, carrying buckets, operating equipment such as vacuum cleaners and wearing protective clothing as required by work environment or regulatory agency. • Provides comprehensive oversight of new hiresthroughout the onboarding and training process. • Provides the initial department assessment, evaluating the new hire's willingness and ability to learn and display competenciesto perform the assigned tasks. • Interfaces with human resources, and Operations. Managers and director to ensure successful organizational and departmental orientation as well as technical training of assigned job responsibilities consistent with best practice. • Proactively handles any improvement opportunities or concerns. Leads or participatesin performance improvement projects and process improvement efforts. • Research, coordinates, and implements core training programs and systems (cleaning and disinfection practices, protocols, auditing tools, competencies, job aides, in-services, skills labs, etc.). Develops and utilizes appropriate evaluation systems to measure effectiveness of educational activities and usesfeedback to adjust programs accordingly. • Collaboratively selects training materials with department director and/or manager. • Maintains and organizes training materials and associated validation of employee competency training to meet accreditation requirements. • Establishes EVS annual continuing education calendar. • Completes training evaluations and critique reports for each individual trainee. • Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaintsfrom customers. • Reports unsafe situations and turnsin Engineering Service Requestsforrepair. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications • Education/Training High School Diploma or GED Licensure/Certification • DOT (Department of Transportation) Certification • (T-CSCT) Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician, preferred. • (T-CHEST Certification) Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional Experience, preferred.
