<p>Duties</p> <p>Hiawatha CUSD #426 has an opening for a part-time cafeteria cook for the 2024-2025 school year.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Reports immediately to the Food Service Director any problem or accident occurring in the cafeteria. </li><li>Confers with the Food Service Director regarding any personnel problems. </li><li>Reports to the Food Service Director any faulty or inferior quality food which is received and/or prepared in the kitchen. </li><li>Determines the quantities of each food to be prepared daily. </li><li>Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested, uniform recipes, and determines if the finished product is of the best quality in flavor, temperature, and appearance before it is served. </li><li>Determines the size of serving to meet the necessary age requirements. </li><li>Serve students and staff in a timely, professional manner. </li><li>Works in a manner that is safe, proper, and efficient in the use of all kitchen equipment. </li><li>Removes used dishes, assisting in cleaning counters, tables, and furnishings. </li><li>Order food and supplies that are needed for the menu. </li><li>Check food shipments into the school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified. </li><li>Assist in the planning of monthly menus. </li><li>Completes daily production sheets and inventory products used for the day. </li><li>Stores and labels all food in a proper and safe way. </li><li>Set kitchen up at beginning of school year, and clean and pack up kitchen at end of school year. </li><li>Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance. </li><li>Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with school personnel and the public as a school leader. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent.</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Food Handler's Certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Good human relations with the ability to communicate in a courteous manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Neat appearance.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated desire to help all children.</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate</p> </li></ol> <p>and acceptable.</p> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>SALARY: $15.03 - $16.03 per hour based on qualifications/Experience</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine month school year; salary and work year to be established by the Board based upon recommendation by the Superintendent.</p> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation on non-certified personnel.</p> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>How to Apply: Please complete the online application, including a letter of interest, resume, copy of transcripts, copy of any certificates along with 3 letters of reference.
