It may also require some in person training as needed.</p> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Department of Engineering Research serve as the primary liaison between the faculty Principal Investigators, Sponsored Research, and Research Financial Management on the development, review and submission of grants and contracts proposals.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>This position consists of pre-award services. The Sr. Unit Research Administrator acts as the primary contact between Engineering faculty Principal Investigators, USF Sponsored Research, and USF Research Financial Management on the development, review and subsequent administration of grants and contracts proposal submissions. The position researches grant sources and informs faculty within the college of potential research opportunities. The College of Engineering has a diverse portfolio of public and private sponsors.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Assists with budget preparation, related documentation, and sponsor forms. Contacts and collaborates with partner institutions to obtain all necessary subcontract documentation. Assists with uploading materials to electronic proposal packages. Coordinates proposal reviews with the central sponsored research office. Supports corrections and modifications before proposals are submitted. Reviews Grants.gov, Research.gov and other central proposal platforms and assists with registrations. Advises on non-financial post-award matters such as re-budgeting requests, no-cost extensions and award transfers.</p> <p>Serves as a liaison to central offices across the USF campus. Remains up to date on university and sponsor policies and procedures. Provides policy guidance and assistance with all aspects of proposal development, including administrative forms, sponsored-required certifications and compliance requirements.</p> <p>Reviews sponsor guidelines and identify key requirements. Ensures all regulatory requirements and export control issues are identified. Facilitates cost share approvals.</p> <p>Meets with College faculty PIs at the start of the proposal process to discuss guidelines and potential compliance issues.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>MINIMUM:</p> <p>This position requires a Bachelor's degree and four years of research or research administration experience; A Master's degree may substitute for two years of the required experience.</p> <p>FLSB1310 Equivalency:</p> <p>4 years of direct experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.</p> <p>6 years of direct experience may be substituted for master's degree.</p> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <p>Experience preferably 3+ years of experience in grant development or sponsored research administration within a university or research setting</p> <p>Technical Skills: Familiarity with electronic grant applications platforms such as Grants.gov, Research.gov, ASSIST and NSPIRES</p> <p>Agency Experience: Strongly desired experience working with proposals for the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Energy (DOE) U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Office of Naval Research (ONR) and other Department of Defense (DOD) offices.</p> <p>Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in Excel</p>
