<p>Spanish II and III</p> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Valid Massachusetts Educator License as a Spanish Teacher, grades 8 -12. Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of second language acquisition Strong computer skills with the ability to utilize technology in all facets of teaching and learning in a 1:1 environment. Knowledge of federal laws protecting the educational services for students with disabilities Demonstrated ability to select instructional planning, management, and evaluation procedures that relate to student needs and the demands of the instructional environment. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs. Knowledge of school's program of studies related to assignments and mission, goals, and organization is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.</p> <p>GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and implement instruction for students in grades 8 - 12 in Spanish based on district curriculum. Assess student abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes using both common assessments and teacher-created tools. Create an environment that teaches and reinforces skill in all communication modes. Utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning. Develop, adapt, modify, and differentiate educational materials, resources, techniques, methods, and strategies to meet the needs of students within the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks and the Billerica Public Schools curriculum. Coordinate instructional activities and collaborate with other professional staff, both school and co-curricular based, as required to maximize learning opportunities. Participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned. Continually assess student achievement and maintain appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes. Continually communicate with students and parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed on instructional expectations and keep them informed of their progress in meeting those expectations. Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement. Ensure the classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, healthful, safe, and conducive to learning and that materials are in good condition and accessible to students. Support or participate in school-wide student activities and social events and approved fundraising activities. Collaborate with other professionals (guidance counselors, librarians, etc.) to carry out schoolwide instructional or related activities. May sponsor or coordinate extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests that enhance and support positive student-teacher relationships.</p>
