Assists medical and technical staff in routine daily activities. Follow patient transport directions on a handheld device that is assigned and used during the shift. Takes direction from staff members to ensure patients receive their testing in a timely manner.</p> <p>Formal Education Required:</p> <p>a. High School diploma or equivalent</p> <p>b. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.</p> <p>Experience & Training Required:</p> <p>a. Healthcare related experience preferred.</p> <p>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:</p> <p>a. Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, and hospital employees.</p> <p>b. Proven ability to read and write English and follow written instructions.</p> <p>c. Must be able to use computer systems and basic Window applications, including proficiency with a mouse and bar code reader.</p> <p>d. Ability to calmly handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.</p> <p>e. Recognizes emergency situations.</p> <p>f. Excellent time-management skills.</p> <p>g. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.</p> <p>h. Ability to proficiently operate a handheld device (e.g. iPhone, cell phone, tablet etc.).</p> <p>i. Possess customer service and excellent interpersonal skills.</p> <p>j. Possess computer skills to complete mandatory training.</p> <p>Level of Physical Demands:</p> <p>a. Exerts 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.</p> <p>b. Ability to lift and position patients, push, and pull heavy carts and to stand and walk for an entire shift.</p> <p>c. Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment from a stationary position.</p> <p>d.
