<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>University Physicians' Association is seeking a full-time Patient Financial Advocate for UTMC Cancer Institute</p> <p>Job Type: Full-time at UTMC Cancer Institute; Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm</p> <p>Patient Financial Advocate responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as a direct point of contact with established and new oncology/hematology patients with financial/medical hardships. </li><li>Collaborates with clinical team, billing department, and patient accounts department. </li><li>Connects with and educate patients and their caregivers on the financial programs that apply to their specific healthcare needs. </li><li>Manages the patient load including enrollment, follow ups, data collection, and reporting of all components of the program. </li><li>Maintains office security by following safety and HIPAA procedures. </li></ul> <p>Full benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD/LTD, Life Insurance, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, and more!</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Approach all patients with compassion; have a desire to serve patients experiencing financial/medical hardships. </li><li>Must be reliable and have excellent follow up skills. </li><li>Must communicate professionally always. </li><li>Must be customer service oriented. </li><li>Must have the ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise. </li><li>Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years' experience within a medical setting. </li><li>Familiarity with health insurance, preferred. </li><li>Must be a self-starter and a team player. </li><li>Excellent telephone and customer service etiquette. </li><li>Attention to detail and good organizational skills. </li><li>Empathetic with good listening skills. </li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. </li></ul>
