This is a combo role requiring a well-rounded professional with strong experience in both disciplines. Together, we can build great things.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of multiple Plumbing systems applications: Waste and Vent, Storm, Domestic Water, Compressed Air, Condensate Drain, Natural Gas, Process Utilities, Fixtures and Pumps. </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of multiple Piping material applications: Steel/carbon pipe, Copper Pipe, PVC/PCV pipe, Poly Pipe, Stainless Steel pipe and Aluminum pipe, including piping layout. </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of multiple Plumbing material applications: Steel/carbon pipe, Copper Pipe, PVC/PCV pipe, Poly Pipe applications, Stainless Steel pipe and Aluminum pipe. </li><li>Receives direct supervision and performs technical responsibilities. </li><li>Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures. </li><li>Contributes to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager. </li><li>Skilled specialist that demonstrates reliable judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations. </li><li>Promote a positive learning environment in mentoring and directing of apprentices. </li><li>Understand and implement lockout/tag-out procedures for safe and secure task(s) </li><li>Perform testing, inspecting, and recording for all rough-in installations as required by building codes and project specifications. </li><li>Maintain all tools and equipment in serviceable condition. </li><li>Use materials and other resources conservatively to promote project success and profitability. </li><li>Participate in the orientation of new partners on your job site. </li><li>Install all systems and products per code, specifications, submittals, and contract documents. </li><li>Provide applicable input promptly to maintain current "As-Built" record drawings. </li><li>Demonstrates understanding of McCarthy Safety Guidelines and Procedures. </li><li>$1.00 increase to base pay if licensed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed pipefitter </li><li>Welding certifications </li><li>Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing exam </li><li>Experience with copper, PVC and cast-iron installations and piping </li><li>Steamfitters license a plus but not required. </li><li>Minimum 5 years' experience in plumbing and pipefitting. </li><li>Experience with refrigerant piping and medical gas preferred </li><li>Med Gas Certification preferred but not required </li><li>Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications </li><li>Ability to accurately layout building systems </li><li>Management and ability to train apprentice tradesmen </li><li>Ability to create a safe working environment, and understands OSHA regulations </li><li>Ability to take off and communicate tool and material requirements to the supervisor </li><li>Ability to set up and perform plumbing tests </li><li>Ability to identify potential issues during installation and elevate them to Foreman/Gen Foreman </li><li>Basic understanding of IPC and UPC building codes </li><li>Must have own hand tools </li><li>Must have reliable transportation to job-site </li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others </li><li>Good problem-solving skills </li><li>Pay rate is determined on current level of knowledge and experience </li></ul> <p>McCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.</p>
