Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, the Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes, including materials management, planning, production control, mechanical & electrical assembly, and inventory management. This position is also responsible for managing plant safety and facility maintenance.</p> <p>The Director of Operations oversees all manufacturing activities while balancing tactical and strategic business directives. He/she must also be ready to demonstrate their skill and experience in a manufacturing environment delivering continuous improvement and driving professional development of the people. The primary goal of the of this role is to ensure that all manufacturing processes and related activities operate at the highest levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost performance.</p> <p>Reporting to the position will be: procurement, production control, planning, manufacturing supervisors and managers.</p> <p>Are you passionate about this work?</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and enforce safety protocols and compliance guidelines. </li><li>Monitor budget and utilize operational resources. Manage the selection, training, and development of production staff. </li><li>Develop and guide team to accomplish goals established for 5S and Lean projects. Identify and lead process improvement opportunities. </li><li>Collaborate effectively across all functions on business initiatives and daily order execution. </li><li>Enforce system and company policies and procedures. Actively participate with the management team to support and implement strategic objectives. </li><li>Develop and drive key performance indicators to the highest standards of performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. </li><li>Provide support to other functions in determining manufacturing capabilities, product lead times, and cost estimates. </li><li>Participate and lead projects aimed at improving on time delivery and inventory turns; reducing cost of quality and obsolescence risk; and increasing productivity and efficiencies. </li></ul> <p>Materials Management</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the management of procurement, planning, production control, inventory, warehouse/shipping & receiving. </li><li>Drive material savings to achieve strategic objectives. </li><li>Leverage systems to optimize planning, procurement, and warehouse management. </li><li>Oversee the management of inventory planning & controls, including but not limited to: Developing stocking & replenishment strategies, setting safety stock, min/max and re-order point parameters, and define and establish inventory classifications. </li><li>Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement to improve planning process. </li></ul> <p>Quality</p> <ul> <li>Implement business process standard operating procedures (SOP's). </li><li>Drive problem-solving, lessons learned and corrective actions. </li><li>Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols. </li><li>Work collaboratively with functional leaders to implement new procedures and corrective actions to improve quality. </li><li>Work closely with Engineering to improve existing products. </li><li>Identifying and resolving workflow and production issues </li></ul> <p>What's in it for you?</p> <p>There's no monopoly on innovative ideas or limits to how far you can advance with our team.
