<p>What you'll do at OhioMHAS:</p> <p>OhioMHAS Ohio Pharmacy Services is recruiting for a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Franklin Medical Center (FMC)</p> <p>Work hours: 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Rotating every Saturday and Sunday</p> <p>This position will assist in filling orders for prescription drugs & pharmaceutical supplies under personal supervision of pharmacist: procure and distribute medication orders per pharmacist request and completes prearranged work assignments according to established policies, procedures, and protocols (e.g., accurately fills prescription labels and stock requisitions; replenishes medications for night drug room; delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas per established schedule); prepares IV Admixtures (e.g. accurately prepares intravenous admixtures or other sterile products with appropriate sterile technique under direct pharmacist supervision; performs IV round of nursing units and determines adherence to IV dosing schedule and researches discrepancies; maintains IV room medication inventory; cleans IV room/compound hood according to guidelines); maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies (e.g., assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations; rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date; identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs; prepackages bulk medications in unit dose packages; determines need for controlled substance medication floor stock; prepares accurate dispensing and transfer records).</p> <ul> <li>Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department: (e.g., picks up medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds </li><li>Accurately enters charges and credits for patient medications </li><li>Answers the telephone in an appropriate manner and directs calls to appropriate personnel </li><li>Answers requests at window </li><li>Makes stat deliveries to patient care areas when requested </li><li>Organizes and prioritizes work assignments </li><li>Accurately maintains logs, records and other required documentation </li><li>Files documentation in appropriate locations </li><li>Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat and well organized; keeps pharmacy equipment clean) </li></ul> <p>This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 5 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Rotating every Saturday and Sunday. This position is located within Franklin Medical Center at 1990 Harmon Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43223.</p> <p>Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.</p> <p>Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
