The University will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The HR Partner role is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management and academic and operational leaders in supporting the University. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: affirmative action, recruitment/employment, employee relations, investigations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy development and implementation, employee separations, immigration, and overall local, state and federal employment law compliance.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Maintains compliance with affirmative action programs; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. </li><li>Develops and administers hiring processes which attract qualified candidates and are compliant with AA and EEO requirements. </li><li>Recommends and administers compensation structure at the university, department, program and position levels. </li><li>Administers the staff performance evaluation and merit process and revises as necessary. </li><li>Conducts comprehensive and impartial investigations into employee relations issues, including but not limited to, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations. </li><li>Understands and maintains compliance to relevant laws related to immigration, overseeing the sponsorship of work visa's and responsible for employment verification eligibility. </li><li>Handles employee relations counseling and employee separations, including analyzing, assessing and prioritizing areas of opportunity and risk and effectively managing those areas with stakeholders. </li><li>Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. </li><li>Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. </li><li>Works with human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. </li><li>Maintains compliance with local, state and federal regulations concerning employment. </li><li>Participates in University organizational meetings as appropriate and attends other meetings when requested. </li><li>Represents Hamline at Career Events. </li><li>Works with leaders on organizational personnel needs and alignment, and strategic department structuring. </li><li>Develops and maintains university organization charts as needed. </li><li>Assists in the development, training and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. </li><li>Participates in developing HR department goals, objectives and systems. </li><li>Models business maturity, effective decision making and commitment to diversity and inclusion in employment. </li><li>Other duties as required and assigned. </li></ul> <p>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</p> <p>This position reports to the: HR Director</p> <p>This position does not supervise other employees, but may supervise student workers.</p> <p>BUDGET MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>This position is responsible for the following budget: N/A</p> <p>Budget Range: This position is not responsible for the management of a budget.</p> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates knowledge in all functional areas of human resources including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy development and implementation, investigations, employee separation and employment law compliance </li><li>Familiarity with all federal, state and local laws on non-discrimination, accommodations and fair pay, including but not limited to FLSA, ADA, FMLA, PMFL Title VII and Title IX. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or sufficient work experience demonstrating ability to perform as a human resources professional </li><li>5+ years of human resources or employment law experience </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization, individually and in groups </li><li>Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations and 2+ years of experience applying personnel practices to conform with laws and regulations as required </li><li>3+ years professional working experience utilizing an ERP system related to recruiting and hiring </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management </li><li>Professional Human Resources experience in Higher Education </li><li>6+ years Human Resources experience </li><li>1+ years of professional working experience with Affirmative Action and DOL audit process </li><li>2+ years employee investigation experience </li><li>SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification </li><li>Supervisory/management experience </li><li>5+ years professional experience working with HR related ERP software </li><li>Familiarity with Workday </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT</p> <p>Must be able to perform the following essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time </li><li>Ability to travel to on and off campus locations </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</p> <ul> <li>This is a full time, 1.0 FTE, exempt position, 12 months a year. </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits:</p> <p>Pay Range: $73,000.00 - $76,500.00 annually</p>
