Eligibility and Employer Sponsored Plans can be found within each of the links offered.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties</p> <p>We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our Carpentry Shop. In this role, you will perform renovations, installations, and alterations to existing structures, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in every project. The ideal candidate will have expertise in drywall, ceiling systems, flooring, cabinetry, and general carpentry work, along with a strong understanding of materials, blueprints, and safety protocols. If you have a passion for precision and take pride in your work, we encourage you to apply and become part of our dynamic team!</p> <p>Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Install and finish drywall, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops. </li><li>Perform trim work, hang doors, install door hardware, and set windows. </li><li>Modify and renovate spaces by removing walls, installing partitions, and altering room layouts. </li><li>Utilize hand and power tools to complete structural modifications and enhancements. </li><li>Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate installations and renovations. </li><li>Identify and address facility-related issues associated with space reconfiguration. </li><li>Collaborate with project managers to develop solutions for construction challenges. </li><li>Ensure adherence to safety standards, material specifications, and quality control procedures. </li><li>Apply knowledge of at least one additional trade while maintaining a general understanding of others. </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Experience/Education</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.</p> <p>Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>Other Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and the general public, both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions related to all trade issues in an institutional setting. </li><li>Working knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the carpentry trade. </li><li>The primary functions of the position require the ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally, with or without a reasonable accommodation. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience renovating building spaces in a university setting, including installing and finishing drywall, ceiling systems, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops. </li></ul> <p>Required License or Certification</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver's license. </li><li>Must be able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire and it must be maintained. </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required Yes Commercial Driver's License Required?
