This unique role is far more than managing books it is about building a love of reading, teaching research and digital citizenship skills, and creating enrichment opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Fosters a love of reading through engaging lessons, book talks, and collaborative projects. </li><li>Teaches students how to research, evaluate sources, and navigate information responsibly. </li><li>Collaborates with classroom teachers to support curriculum and inquiry-based learning. </li><li>Managed and maintains the school library collection. </li><li>Creates a welcoming, inclusive library environment for all students. </li><li>Serves as the school's Enrichment Teacher, designing and teaching enrichment classes and projects for students across grade levels. </li><li>Leads enrichment opportunities such as STEM projects, makerspace activities, coding, research projects, and passion projects. </li><li>Integrates technology and media in meaningful, age-appropriate ways. </li><li>Leads special projects such as reading challenges, author visits, and school-wide literacy events. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:New Jersey School Library Media Specialist Certification.Salary:Starting salary of $57,547.00 in accordance with collective bargaining agreementApplication:Qualified individuals interested in applying are invited to apply online at https://www.applitrack.com/paramus/onlineapp/default.aspx .Requirements:</p> <p>1.New Jersey resident or willingness to relocate</p> <p>2.Controlled substance testing and successful completion of criminal history background check are required of all applicants offered employment.</p> <p>Evaluation:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the of Agreement between the Board of Education and the Education</p> <p>Association of Paramus.Click here to view job descriptions available on the district's website.</p> <p>AA/EOE</p>
