The Cook at Carriage House plays an important role in delivering memorable breakfast and afternoon reception experiences for guests of The Carriage House through well-executed buffet-style service with an emphasis on fresh, healthy, and wellness-focused cuisine.</p> <p>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare and execute daily breakfast buffet service according to established menus, recipes, and presentation standards</p> </li><li> <p>Support the preparation and service of afternoon happy hour receptions, including buffet setup, replenishment, and breakdown</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet Kohler Hospitality standards</p> </li><li> <p>Follow production schedules and recipes to maintain portion control and minimize waste</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain proper food temperatures, labeling, dating, and storage at all times</p> </li><li> <p>Practice safe food handling and sanitation procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and kitchen environment</p> </li><li> <p>Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment and tools</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with the Supervising Cook and culinary team to support daily operations</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with all Kohler Co. policies, standards, and workplace safety guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills & Experience Required</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous culinary experience in breakfast service, buffet preparation, catering, or banquet environments preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Experience or demonstrated interest in healthy, wellness-minded, and fresh food</p> </li><li> <p>preparation</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of buffet presentation standards and high-volume food production</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow standardized recipes and written procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment</p> </li><li> <p>ServSafe certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire)</p> </li></ul> <p>Food Safety & Sanitation Requirements</p> <p>This role requires strict adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proper handwashing, personal hygiene, and uniform standards</p> </li><li> <p>Safe food handling practices, including time and temperature control</p> </li><li> <p>Prevention of cross-contamination and correct allergen awareness</p> </li><li> <p>Compliance with HACCP principles where applicable</p> </li><li> <p>Routine cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils, and workspaces</p> </li><li> <p>Safe handling, use, and storage of knives and kitchen equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Compliance with all OSHA and workplace safety regulations</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands & Work Environment</p> <p>The physical demands described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds</p> </li><li> <p>Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand motions</p> </li><li> <p>Manual dexterity required for knife skills and food preparation</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in warm and occasionally humid kitchen environments</p> </li><li> <p>Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> </li></ul> <p>This is a casual part-time position available working weekdays and weekends.
