<p>The Mammography Technologist performs mammography procedures under the direction of a Radiologist at a technical level. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to perform a variety of diagnostic and interventional examinations while ensuring patient safety and comfort.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform high-quality mammograms in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. </li><li>Explain procedures clearly to patients and families to ensure understanding and comfort. </li><li>Apply proper radiation protection for patients, self, and others during procedures. </li><li>Maintain sterile techniques and assist Radiologists during interventional procedures. </li><li>Coordinate scheduling of mammography procedures with clinics and referring offices. </li><li>Evaluate requisitions, complete required documentation, and ensure accurate identification of films. </li><li>Conduct daily quality control checks and maintain compliance with State of Iowa and MQSA standards. </li><li>Promote positive relationships with clinic personnel and contribute to team goals. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a clean work environment. </li><li>Attend staff meetings and in-service programs as required. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Completion of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology. </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>ARRT registered. </li><li>Current State of Iowa permit to practice Radiology and Mammography. </li><li>Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. </li><li>State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter certification. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two years of clinical experience in medical imaging. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills with diverse populations. </li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. </li><li>Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Technical knowledge of radiologic technology and mammography. </li><li>Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment </li></ul> <p>Know someone that may be a good fit - share it with them!</p>
