The incumbent will be required to quickly gain expertise in NCR Voyix system software as well as in Walmart's system. The ability to work effectively in a team environment composed of peers and cross-functional members as well as Walmart members is very important as is the ability to be focused and a self-starter. Project work varies considerably in a range of technologies and environments from up-to-the minute software development to testing and troubleshooting individual component as well as fully integrated system with the latest tools and technologies. Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges quickly is critical. Local travel may also be required</p> <p>Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Participates actively in customer engagements </li><li>Leads Technical Workshop (customer facing) </li><li>Estimates time and resources for software development efforts </li><li>Responsible for technical design, development, and maintenance of software applications and their associated components within the team </li><li>Leads local and remote implementation teams; provides leadership of small to medium size projects </li><li>Work with team of technical analysts to respond to, track and resolve incoming customer issues that are escalated from NCR's support organization </li><li>Estimate time and resources for software development efforts. </li><li>Design software subsystems, components, and their interfaces in support of business requirements. </li><li>Develop high quality code to support technical architecture and design; consider future systems architecture. </li><li>Conduct unit testing based on knowledge of system architecture, interdependencies and interactions </li></ul> <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline </li><li>4+ years of professional software development experience </li><li>Proficient with Linux services and system components (e.g., systemd, networking services, logging, process management, and service monitoring) </li><li>Ability to install, test, debug, and troubleshoot complex software and hardware systems </li><li>Ability to balance test depth and execution performance in complex software systems </li><li>Experience validating non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, scalability) </li><li>Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub </li><li>Experience packaging and deploying Debian-based (DEB) packages </li><li>Creating and updating test documents </li><li>Experience preparing release documentation and updating jiras </li><li>Hands-on experience working in Unix/Linux environments, windows is a plus </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities </li><li>High attention to detail with a focus on quality and reliability </li><li>Experience developing software in an Agile environment is a plus </li><li>Strong self-learning ability, particularly in environments with limited documentation or formal training </li><li>Experience in the retail industry, particularly with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems is a plus </li><li>Proficiency in two or more programming languages such as C++, Java, C#, and/or scripting languages is a plus </li><li>Strong knowledge of software design principles, methodologies, and development tools is a plus </li><li>Extensive experience with both client-side and server-side development is a plus </li><li>Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required is a plus </li><li>Strong skills in code analysis, reviews, and best-practice enforcement is a plus </li><li>Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and socket-based communication is a plus </li></ul> <p>Offers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job</p> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Integrated into our shared values is NCR Voyix's commitment to equal employment opportunity.
