<p>This position is a seasonal position from approximately mid-January 2026, through the end of May 2026</p> <p>Salary Range: $16.50 - $23.93 Hourly</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The City of Greeley is seeking a full-time, temporary Clerical Assistant to work as part of the Water & Sewer Utility Billing Department, to administer the LIFT UP Program (previously known as the Food Tax Rebate Program), and the Utility Assistance Program.</p> <p>This is an hourly, seasonal clerical position working up to 40 hours per week from mid-January 2026, through approximately the end of May 2026. Responsibilities include processing customer applications for the LIFT UP and utility assistance programs, answering customer questions, assisting customers with filing food tax rebate applications and utility assistance program; assisting staff in sorting/filing miscellaneous accounting forms, and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Basic math skills </li><li>Zero (0) to two (2) years of previous clerical experience </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job </li></ul> <p>AND</p> <ul> <li>Possession of a valid driver's license. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual in English/Spanish with demonstrated fluency preferred </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to use the City's financial software </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices, including customer needs assessments, meeting quality service standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction</p> </li><li> <p>Customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen, address customer needs, defuse tense situations, and maintain an open, flexible, and friendly demeanor</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to deliver a high level of commitment to customer service</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to respond to requests in a timely manner</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to present oneself professionally in appearance, demeanor, and effort</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal</p> </li><li> <p>Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others</p> </li><li> <p>Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to focus on activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with a variety of internal and external constituencies</p> </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):</p> <ul> <li>Assisting customers with filing LIFT UP rebate applications </li><li>Assisting customers with filing utility assistance applications </li><li>Processing customer applications for the LIFT UP rebate program </li><li>Processing customer applications for the utility assistance program </li><li>Answering customer questions </li><li>Assisting staff in sorting/filing miscellaneous accounting forms, </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Travel: Category A - Standard Local Travel: This position requires occasional local travel within the County.
