<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>Under limited supervision, the incumbent will undertake critical responsibilities, including reviewing and approving or denying all grant adjustment requests submitted by the Division of Administrative Services, Justice and Community Services' (DAS/JCS) section sub-recipients. They will conduct monthly technical assistance calls with sub-recipients, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance for success. The role also encompasses the submission of various progress reports, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and more for all federal and state grant programs administered by DAS/JCS. Furthermore, the Criminal Justice Specialist 3 will oversee the management of DAS/JCS's electronic grant filing system and conduct weekly audits on federal, state, and sub-recipient grant files.</p> <p>A significant aspect of this role includes writing and applying for millions of dollars in new grant funding while administering existing grant funds and overseeing state and federal grant programs. This includes collecting and processing financial reimbursement requests from sub-grantees and maintaining tracking systems for financial and programmatic grant activities. The Criminal Justice Specialist 3 will also support and facilitate meetings and events for various statewide committees, advisory boards, and task forces. They will coordinate the annual grant review process for multiple programs, ensuring all applications are accurate and complete. This role will also involve overseeing correspondence with applicants regarding any necessary changes and preparing investment packages for recommended funding awards for submission to the Office of the Governor for approval.</p> <p>This position may supervise Criminal Justice Specialists, managing their workflow, creating schedules, and delegating tasks effectively. This position will involve assessing employee performance, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that the section meets the Department's goals and performance standards.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Candidate will be subject to a criminal history records check, and must possess a valid driver's license.
