<p>As a student success adviser, you will create a positive environment to assist 400 to 500 students prepare for professional careers. Through an established communication plan, you will provide early outreach to students identified by the university's alert program to monitor their enrollment and coursework progress. You will also inform students about the major and minor selection process. Your responsibilities will include providing students with financial aid counsel and answering other questions they may have. Additionally, you will collaborate with various offices - including admission, bursar, student involvement, career and alumni success, counseling, etc. - to develop programs that promote student retention.</p> <p>In this position, you will develop training for students to learn relevant software such as degree audit, MySCAD, and web registration. Your responsibilities include communicating academic and campus policies to students to assist with the completion of university transactions. You will oversee First-Year Experience courses and help students with all aspects of registration, including course selection reviews and completing forms and web requests for overrides and curriculum variances. You will also participate in SCADbound Summer Experiences to meet with new students and parents before enrollment, documenting all contact in Salesforce.</p> <p>As an adviser, you will communicate with department chairs and faculty regarding curriculum, course requirements, academic policies, and advising procedures. You will participate in reviewing the curriculum and catalog alongside the department chairs and deans. You will also coordinate support for other offices with an emphasis on promoting student success.</p> <p>The successful candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of academic programs associated with their assigned caseload and a working knowledge of all offered undergraduate programs. They should also have excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills. The candidate must meet deadlines, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li><li>Experience in advising, financial aid, or counseling in higher education </li><li>Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Banner proficiency </li></ul> <p>Travel Required:</p> <ul> <li>Less than 10% </li></ul> <p>Work Hours:?The university work week is Sunday through Saturday.
