<p>A position which requires a person to utilize knowledge of the game, the ability of participants, and such strategy and techniques as needed to develop a competitive team.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Works under the general supervision of the Principals of Uxbridge High School and the Whitin Intermediate School along with the Athletic Director. </li><li>Develops a spirit of competitiveness, sportsmanship, and team and school loyalty in all participants. </li><li>Instructs students verbally and as necessary in writing, on proper techniques and procedures. </li><li>Provides guided practice of sufficient quality and duration to achieve team goals. This position involves light to medium physical activity on a regular basis. </li><li>Ensures the physical well being of all participants by enforcing safety rules and procedures and universal precautions. </li><li>Understands the playing rules of the sport and the important of proper technique and is able to teach and demonstrate. </li></ul> <p>EXAMPLES OF WORK:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluates student athlete's ability and knowledge, and develops these through verbal instruction and guided demonstration. </li><li>Evaluates equipment and facilities and requests such alternatives as are necessary for the physical well being of the players. </li><li>Develops lessons that provide the opportunity for players to learn and practice appropriate techniques. </li><li>Works cooperatively with assistant(s), supervisor and others. </li><li>Communicates verbally with parents and guardians as needed. </li></ul> <p>My application affirms, that I have read and understand that the information which I have provided with this application process and the accompanying resume is true and complete to the best of my knowledge.
