The Teacher's role is to create an inviting and effective learning environment that supports student achievement and personal development in alignment with Summit Academy Management's mission and instructional design.</p> <p>Instructional Skills/Abilities</p> <p>Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in the area of instruction by:</p> <ul> <li>? Effectively planning for instruction. </li><li>? Employing a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet student needs. </li><li>? Demonstrating thorough knowledge of the subject matter being taught. </li><li>? Creating an inviting and engaging learning environment. </li><li>? Encouraging proper care and use of equipment, furnishings, and materials. </li><li>? Being receptive to new instructional ideas and approaches. </li><li>? Demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and learning. </li><li>? Using the written and spoken word correctly. </li><li>? Teaching social thinking and social skills to students. </li><li>? Evaluating and reporting student progress on the approved reporting tool as scheduled. </li><li>? Following Summit Academy's Instructional Design. </li></ul> <p>Classroom Management</p> <p>Support a positive learning environment by:</p> <ul> <li>? Establishing and maintaining positive rapport with students and staff. </li><li>? Developing and maintaining a consistent classroom routine. </li><li>? Setting clear expectations for students. </li><li>? Upholding school rules and policies. </li><li>? Implementing the PBIS Behavior System. </li></ul> <p>Professional Attitude and Relationships</p> <p>Maintain professional relationships by:</p> <ul> <li>? Interacting in a professional manner with Summit Academy staff. </li><li>? Collaborating effectively and respectfully with colleagues. </li><li>? Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree. </li><li>? Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license. </li><li>? Meet Federal Properly Certified Teacher standards as determined by ESEA. </li><li>? Appropriate criminal background clearance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>? Demonstrated knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards and model curriculum. </li><li>?
